about

Shiba Pack Vol.1 is a compilation of previously released music from 2017-2020. This release is the patience and perseverance manifested in project format. Imagine having rapped for a decade and some change with nothing under your discography. (outside of recorded freestyles) 14 years of ups, downs and lots of uncertainty and self doubt as an artist.

I started rapping in 2003 and getting signed to a major label was my definition of success as a rapper. Being part of two rap groups , both ended on amicable terms, and operating as a solo artist again was challenging.
I went from recording/ writing one verse for group projects to writing whole songs on my own. I excelled as a freestyle rapper & neglected the art of song writing.I performed at local shows / open mics over the years and freestyled during parties and shows.

For years, I rarely came encountered anyone who had access to recording equipment, nor had the money to afford studio time. I eventually dropped out of college because I lacked interest in school. I worked part time jobs to pay rent, pay bills and party. Having a music career seemed more of a pipe dream than a reality. At times I felt liike a washed up rapper that hasn't even recorded one official song/ project.

I decided to take music again seriously in 2014 after meeting other individuals who also made music. It wouldn't be another 3 years until I finally released my first official song, "Pull Up" as an artist in J57's FiveSe7en Collective.

The past few years I feel like I just got my second wind. I feel like a new artist. I changed up my sound and started putting effort into branding & finding a niche audience. Being patient, not giving up on this rap thing after years of stagnation is now slowly paying off.

I want to thank everyone for their support and putting their faith in me as an artist even when I didn't believe in myself.

Thank you to everyone at FiveSe7en Collective!
Thank you J57 & Element for seeing potential in me as J's assistant & as an artist. Also thank you Ric & Ski for helping run F7C.
